Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 13, 2026. This is a short overview of how Xcal handles personal information.

Information we collect

Xcal collects the information needed to run the app, including account details such as your email address, the meal notes and food photos you submit, subscription status, and basic technical information about how the app is used.

How we use your information

We use this information to authenticate your account, store your entries, generate nutrition estimates, keep subscriptions working, improve the product, and help diagnose bugs or support issues.

Supabase

We use Supabase for authentication, database services, and storage. That means account information and app data you save in Xcal are processed and stored through Supabase infrastructure.

PostHog analytics

We use PostHog to understand how people use Xcal, such as which screens are opened, feature usage patterns, and general app performance. This helps us improve the product and fix problems.

AI processing through OpenRouter

When you use AI-powered nutrition features, the meal text or meal image you submit may be sent through OpenRouter and its underlying model providers so we can generate calorie and nutrition estimates. You should avoid submitting sensitive personal information that is not needed for meal analysis.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate Xcal, such as Supabase, PostHog, OpenRouter, app store billing providers, or when required by law.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove it within a reasonable period unless we need to keep certain information for legal, security, or billing reasons.

Your choices and contact

You can request account deletion and contact us about privacy questions using the support details listed in the app, the App Store listing, or the imprint page on this website.
